I am migrating to product-specific templates, but early on, I was using generic templates.
Now it is a challenge to find out what products are assigned to a template. In the theme editor, when I select a product template to work on, it shows ‘assigned to 98 products’. How do I see that list of 98 products I have assigned to that template? I would prefer not having to scrub through products individually to find the stragglers after I do a bulk change to specific templates.
If there is a filter in the product listings, I haven’t been able to find it.
A roundabout way that I’ve been able to see which products are using a certain page template is in the Theme Editor.
On that particular template, in the sidebar near the top there’s a “Preview” block and there’s the linked text “Change.”
If you click that, you can toggle to the “Assigned” tab and see all the products using this template.
When you’re viewing your product template, in the top left under sections the product template is listed and it says how many products the template is assigned to. Beneath this, there is a section that says preview with a product that the page template is currently assigned to. If you click change > assigned, you’ll see a list of all the products that page template is assigned to. I haven’t found a way to download this list yet, but it’s the quickest way I’ve found to locate all the products with the product template applied.
I’ve just used your method - and to download, I copy them using my cursor, and pasted (as values) into Excel. It lists all data in one column, with “Resource Media Thumbnail”, then the product name, followed by SKU. I removed the empty cells and sorted by SKU names, giving me a list of all the SKUs that are using that template. I added OR next to each SKU and search them all in ‘Products’. I’ve then bulk edited all of the SKUs that I’m wanted to change template.
