Please also ensure the products you sell are legal in your place of residence or where you plan to sell. We can’t provide legal advice here but do seek advice from a legal professional.
When selling erotic products and sex toys, you will need to use a third-party payment gateway to process payments. Shopify Payments is only available in certain countries and regions at the moment and, though we are always looking to expand to other regions, Shopify Payments is also unable to support the sale of adult content and services.
Although this does prohibit the sale of adults toys through our payment gateway, which is indicated in section B.5 of Shopify Payments Terms of Service; however, it doesn’t prohibit the use of our platform.

Hi Nia, I have a similar question. I erotica fantasy novels for men and was wondering which platform to sell my books on. I read how sex products are not prohibited in Shopify stores. Does that extend to erotica novels as well? Also, does the terms and services mean that Shopify can pull down my store whenever it wants? Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for reaching out here! The sale of your novels should be fine as long as it isn’t breaching our Acceptable Use Policy ! I would definitely recommend looking into adding an Age Verification app to your store to ensure no minors are accessing your store.
In regards to your question about our Terms of Services, if your store is breaching any of Terms of Service or AUP , your store can be reviewed by our internal team who can take appropriate action depending on what has been breached!
If you move to Shopify to sell adult/relationship products:

Payment is the main hurdle—Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal may block adult items. You’ll likely need a high-risk processor (e.g., CCBill, Segpay).
