we already selling swords and knives on ebay and ecrater. and have collectives too. I wanna know can I sell swords and knives etc on shopify
Hi @haqan99 ,
Ted here from Shopify, thanks for reaching out to us.
Great question! You can set up a Shopify store but you can not use our Shopify Payments gateway to sell knives or swords as outlined in our Shopify Payments Terms of Service, under Regulated or illegal products or services. So while you are welcome to sell knives and swords with Shopify’s platform itself, you should always double-check that your payment gateway provider will allow you to sell these items too. I’d recommend checking out this guide to see a full list of gateways that are available in your location. Their customer service will be able to let you know if knives and swords can be sold using their gateway.
In addition, I’d recommend taking the time to review our Shopify Terms of Service and AUP policy so that you can familiarise yourself with the other products that can’t be used on the platform itself.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know, I’m happy to help!
Many thanks,
Hello, Regarding your comment below, does this still apply for 2023 and moving forward? How about verbiage about the knife. Our knives has content verbiage about how it was used historically during war time. See link for example.

Hi, @ccastillo1005 .
Rio here from the Shopify Community team. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. When it comes to determining what can and cannot be sold on Shopify, it’s always best to consult with a legal authority as Shopify is unable to provide legal advice. They will be able to guide you on any specific regulations or restrictions that may apply to your product.
I recommend reviewing our policies to ensure that your content aligns with our guidelines.
