I’ve got a quick question. I’m about to launch some new products on my Shopify store, but right now, my site is password-protected. I was thinking of giving my email list a sneak peek by letting them pre-order.
Is it okay to share my site’s password with these customers for this purpose? I’m trying to figure out if this is a good idea or if there’s a better way to handle it. Mainly, I want to avoid any security issues or messing up the customer experience.
If anyone has done something similar or has any tips, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
That will not work. If you enable password protection, even if the clients can access your store with the password, they can’t place an order. The store will be like in maintainance mode.
You can absolutely share your site password! This won’t create any security issues as it only allows early access to your site. If you feel you need to change the password to prevent customers from accessing again, you can absolutely do so under Online Store > Preferences.
In the meantime, I’d love to learn more about your store! When you have a moment feel free to send the URL and password.
Instead of sharing the password, consider creating a private pre-order page accessible only to your email list. It enhances exclusivity, maintains security, and ensures a seamless customer experience.
