Can I show a collection on a separate WP website from my shop?

Topic summary

A user wants to display specific Shopify collections on a separate WordPress website with custom functionality:

Desired features:

  • Horizontal scrolling layout (single row with left/right navigation) instead of vertical product lists
  • Works well on both desktop and mobile devices
  • Product buttons that open the shop in a new/same window rather than adding items directly to cart

Current situation:

  • The built-in Shopify “Buy Button” app partially meets needs but lacks the desired layout and behavior
  • User is seeking alternative apps that can generate the necessary code

Response received:

  • A community member indicated this requires custom JavaScript modifications
  • Recommended contacting the theme developer for implementation assistance
  • No alternative apps were identified that provide this specific functionality out-of-the-box

Status: The question about alternative apps remains unanswered; custom development appears to be the suggested path forward.

I have a separate WP website from my shop where I would like to promote some specific collections on a couple of pages.

I found the Shopify “Buy Button” app that sorta does what I want. But I’d like to do it a little different:

  • show a collection in one line on PC and mobile, where you scroll to the right or left (I made some arrows on the screenshot to show what I mean) to see more products. Instead of just showing the products in a long list, that really looks bad - especially on mobile.
  • the “Se produkt” or “buy button” should just open my shop in a new window (or the same) - instead of adding it to the basket.

Is it possible to do this with the “Buy Button” app or are there another app on the store, that can help generate the code needed for my separate site?

Hi @ChristianRG , thanks for reaching out.

Regarding your request, I checked and would like to inform you that it requires custom JS modifications. In this case, I recommend you contact your theme developer for further assistance.

I hope my information is helpful to you.

Thanks for the reply.

There’s no app in the store that can help to generate that kind of code JS code? Besides the Buy Button app.
