My shop is struggling and I want to close it temporarily, with an option to reopen as the same set up if £ improves in the future. I doubt understand the new domain thing (you can reopen with same domain?) does this mean I cant close it for now and reopen with the same web domain address/ shop name or is it ok for me to deactivate the shop now and easy to reopen inn future if things get better? Thanks in advance for any advice.
If you want to temporarily close your Shopify store, you can do so by putting it in “Pause” mode. This will remove your store from the internet but still allow you to log in and manage your account. Your custom domain name will still be associated with your account and available to use when you’re ready to reopen your store.
To put your store in Pause mode, go to “Settings” > “Plan and permissions” > “Pause plan”. From there, you can choose to pause your store for a certain amount of time, or indefinitely. When you’re ready to reopen your store, simply go to “Settings” > “Plan and permissions” > “Reactivate plan”.
It’s important to note that while your store is in Pause mode, you won’t be charged any subscription fees, but you also won’t be able to make any sales or access your storefront.
