Does my shopify store HAVE to include the “shopify.com” tag even if i have my own custom .com domain that I have purchased, or is there an option to remove this while still using Shopify?
Nope, your store does not have to include the myshopify extension. Setting your custom domain as the primary should address your question.
Cheers!

Hi @marcelessak ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with the shop’s URL, to ensure this gets resolved.
As mentioned by @GabrielS , you can certainly purchase a Custom Domain if you would like customers to access the shop from a different URL. For more information on this, I recommend checking out our Domains Documentation as it touches on this further.
It’s important to note however, the .myshopify.com domain will continue to be used when logging into your account or when contacting support. Customers will not see the .myshopify.com URL if a custom domain is purchased and set as the primary domain, but will continue to be used internally.
Please let me know if you have any other concerns.
Hello there
the myshopify.com is the name of the store when you first create it and the identifier.
when you get a domain users will see the actual domain and not the myshopify.com one if it is linked correctly.
We highly recommed namecheap for all domains and easy set up.
