hi, I’m in Vietnam and I want to my store in the USA and I have several questions:
do I need a bank in the USA or can I just use PayPal and connect to my bank here in Vietnam?
Does the billing address have to be in Vietnamese’s address or it can be a random one? and what would happen if I use a random USA address or UK address?
I see that Shopify payments are no longer providing Shopify payment for the USA store, can I change my address store to the UK? can anyone help advise me on this, please?
You would need to set up an USA account aswell or simply just go with transferwise or now only called wise account and get them to give you USA details since its a Multicurrency wallet.
You can check in with the specific service providers available there, to see which currencies they can support or if they’d be able to process sales in USD.
Any company processing payments in this way would usually be legally required to establish the identity of their customers to guard against money laundering or other offences.
As such, you’d be asked for proof of address as well as government-issued identity documentation.
It is sometimes possible to apply for a Shopify Payments account when not resident in a given country, but there would be further documentary requirements such as proof of citizenship, proof of a bank account, etc in addition to the normal verification checks.
