So I am new here to Shopify and I already have my website with a different provider. I thought Shopify may look better and work better for my needs but I am hitting some stumbling blocks early on.
I have already created a product in my store as I would like it. Can I use this existing product as a template to create further similar items? It will be very time consuming if I have to add each item from scratch.

Shopify supports importing products from a CSV file to quickly add or update products in bulk. Before importing, you need a CSV file in the correct Shopify format. You can download Shopify’s sample CSV file at:
Step 1: Access Shopify Admin
Go to Shopify Admin ➝ Products.
Step 2: Select Import
In the top right corner, click the “Import” button.
Step 3: Upload the CSV File
Click “Add file” and select your CSV file.
Step 4: Review the Data
Shopify will display a preview of the data from your CSV file.
If everything looks correct, click “Upload and continue” to proceed.
Step 5: Complete the Import Process
Once uploaded, Shopify will process the file and add the products to your store.
This process may take a few minutes, depending on the number of products.
Thanks very much for this. On other platforms I sell and there are more product variations which do not work here. I have tried uploading csv files from them and adding, but they did not work. Would it be a case of creating my own csv file with the different products and uploading that? I am not very technical and have always created a new product off of the other products on the website. Is this not an option for me? Many thanks
