Can I use other payment methods besides Mollie on Shopify?

Hi,

our customer already has a bank which offers payment services like iDeal, credit card, giropay and so on. But in shopify the only service I find for this methods is mollie. How can I add the payment method credit card, iDEAL and so on via our customers bank, which offers IDs, Project IDs and everything you need for it? I am forced to use mollie?

iDEAL is a very popular payment method for buyers in the Netherlands. I’m happy to inform you that you can integrate iDEAL as a local payment method with Shopify Payments so you don’t need to use an external payment gateway. Previously, only if the merchants are based in select EU countries could enable iDEAL with Shopify Payments. As of November 2021, iDEAL is now available to all regions where Shopify Payments are offered.

In order to enable iDEAL at checkout,

  • Merchants need to use Shopify Payments
  • Merchants must be selling to the Netherlands and the store accepts EUR
  • Merchants who are based in the Netherlands are also required to have a KVK number (Dutch business registration number).- Merchants must deactivate any conflicting Alternative Payment Gateway before they can enable iDEAL.

In regards to Giropay, currently only available to merchants as an Alternative Payment Gateway(such as Mollie). More information about available payment providers in the Netherland can be found here. (You can also check the available payment information by country or region on the same link)
