I would like to use Revolut as a payment option for customers on our store. It is now a registered bank so was wondering if it’s easier now? Is there a plug in or an App for it, preferably free?
Topic summary
A merchant in Ireland wants to integrate Revolut as a payment option in their Shopify store, citing its growing popularity and fraud prevention features. Initially, Shopify support confirmed Revolut wasn’t a supported payment gateway and recommended Shopify Payments or other approved gateways.
Key Development:
The merchant later successfully added Revolut Pay to their checkout but encountered limitations:
- Cannot reorder payment options to prioritize Revolut (currently appears at bottom)
- Dynamic checkout buttons only support Shop Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, Venmo, and PayPal
- Checkout customization requires Shopify Plus plan
Community Interest:
Multiple users expressed interest in Revolut Pay, particularly for European markets where Shopify Payments or other accelerated checkout options have limited availability (e.g., Romania). One user shared that Revolut Pay is now accessible through Stripe’s new checkout solution.
Unresolved Questions:
- The original method used to add Revolut Pay remains unclear (merchant’s husband configured it but can’t recall the process)
- No data shared on conversion rate impact from redirect-based payment flow
- Concerns raised about potential account blocking when using Revolut for business transactions
Hi, @Claire-Drummy .
Thank you for reaching out!
Are you able to share the country you are located in? Once I know your location I can check to see if the Revolut gateway is an approved payment gateway available on Shopify. Is there a specific reason why you would like to offer Revolut as a payment gateway on your store?
Please let me know if you have further questions! I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

Hi Emily,
I am in Ireland and soon to be opening our shop up to Europe and maybe even worldwide.
I would like to use it as it is getting bigger and a lot people have it, they also have the online card option which changes your number each time it’s used to prevent fraud etc.
Hi, @Claire-Drummy .
Thank you for your response! Congratulations on growing your business into Europe; that is amazing!
Currently, Revolut is not a supported payment gateway on our platform. I would highly recommend Shopify payments as it is available in most European countries and worldwide. Shopify Payments allows you to save on transaction fees, track your money in real-time and offers fraud protection. You are welcome to browse available and supported payment gateways for each country that you want to expand into if you would like more options.
Please let me know if you have any further questions! I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

I really hope that they will add Shopify to their payment widget. Now that they are a bank, I’m sure it might come out very soon!
Waiting for it as well !
Hi, @ZENKON .
Yes! I’m happy to provide this feedback to our team regarding the Revolut payment gateway.
Please reach out to us if you have any further questions!
hi, i have Revolut as an option on my site now but would like the Revolut option to be the primary option on the store, at the moment it is at the very bottom and you have to scroll down quite far. Below is a screenshot of where we would like it, is it something that can be done?
Hi, @Claire-Drummy .
That’s great to hear! Thank you for sharing that screenshot.
The image you shared is the dynamic checkout panel that shows in the checkout section. Currently, the only payment gateways that will show there are Shop Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon pay, Venmo, and PayPal, depending on your customer’s most used gateway on their specific device.
Please let me know if you have any further questions! I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

Ok thank you. Is there a way of putting it above credit card and paypal in the other payment part? As you can see below it’s right at the bottom and the writing is a lot smaller.
We sell many items from kitchen gadgets, car gadgets, gifts for kids and adults, camping stuff, fitness stuff, toys and robots and loads more ![]()
Hi, @Claire-Drummy .
Wow sounds like a great store! Do you mind providing your URL, I would love to check it out!
Currently, you are not able to modify your online checkout unless you are on the Shopify Plus plan. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
Ok no worries, thanks. Can you let me know if that ever changes?
Our shop is www.siopashop.ie
happy scrolling, you’ll need a few hours haha
Hi, @Claire-Drummy .
Thank you for sharing your URL. Your store looks great!
If customizing your online checkout becomes a feature of the basic plan, you will receive this information via email. You can also keep an eye out for us on Twitter, where we announce any significant changes happening on our platform.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
@Claire-Drummy I am looking for the same option. Especially because Shopify Payments are not available in Romania, Google Pay is not available in Romania, PayPal is available but nobody uses Paypal here so it is useless, the only accelerated checkout option in Romania seems to be Apple Pay, but that one only works on Safari as browser. So I am left with about 17% of our market that has access to a form of accelerated checkout.
I am also trying to get Shopify to implement Revolut Pay (the part of the Revolut Payment Gateway that works like Apple Pay) as an accelerated checkout option.
Dear Claire,
How did you add revolut as a payment option?
Which payment gateway allows that?
I am in Europe.
Thanks!
My husband did it as he is the IT guy but i asked him and he said he can’t remember. I will post once he remembers haha
Yes that is what we have is Revolut pay, my husband did it a while back and can’t remember how he did it so once he remembers i will pass on haha
@Claire-Drummy did you guys see any drop on the conversion rate? since there’s no credit card fields embedded in the checkout page, but it redirects users.

It is available with new checkout solution via Stripe >> https://youtu.be/FTpm6Twl-ak
You can accept payments and subscriptions with many payment methods via new Stripe-powered all in one solution.
I was thinking about the same as I have a pro account and never used it. Just been rejected from Starling after opening a business account application.
But am concerned about Revolut blocking my account being using for Shopify. Shopify have the revolut payment gateway.
Might try with Monzo first though.
I will just be foused on the UK market, no other currencies. Simple online store to start.
Process to apply for a Monzo Business account was far easier than Starling. Just waiting for their decision. Been a customer with both for over 6 years now. Starling asked so many questions and asked all about the business and had to upload documents, websites etc etc etc.
Fingers crossed with Monzo as Revolut is my daily account I’d rather not risk using them in case they detect unusual activity with Shopify and block me
