my store is in france and shopify is suggesting to switch into shopify payments, actually i deal with stripe and paypal, if i activated shopify payments do paypal still stay active?what are the payments based on?
is it an alternative to stripe?

This is a great question! Shopify Payments is the main gateway offered on the platform and comes with a number of benefits to using it as a payment gateway in your online store. Some of these benefits include, Shop Pay, in-house support from our support team, financial reports and high transaction approval rates, among many others.
Happy to inform you that if you have Shopify Payments enabled on your online store, you are not charged third-party transaction fees on orders processed by PayPal. This is because the Shopify Payments gateway is integrated with PayPal.
If you would like to use Stripe as a payment gateway, we can assist you with this process. In order for us to take a further look into your account specifics, we will need to verify you as the store owner.
