Can I use the payment function with the Pause and Build plan?

Hi everyone,

Did anyone knows if I am using Pause and Build plan, it will make me cant use the payment function? (like a manage the payment)

Thanks for reaching out here.

I understand you have some queries about the pause & build plan, and whether or not you can use the payment function.

To clarify, the pause & build plan is best suited for merchants that want to stop selling but would like to continue working on their store. On this plan, you would still be able to access your admin as normal and edit products/themes/pages/etc. Your storefront would also remain visible to customers, but the checkout would be disabled (this means real and test orders aren’t possible). If your query was in relation to using the payment function to accept any payments, then that would not be possible on this plan - you cannot accept any payments through your store.

If you mean whether or not you can continue to work on your payment settings when on the pause & build plan, then yes that is possible, as you would still have access to your Shopify admin and your various store settings. However, if you wanted to test anything in your checkout such as with a real or test order, then you would need to be on a regular paid plan with access to your store checkout.

I trust that @nicksocha and myself have helped to clarify things, but please let me know if you have any further questions and I would be happy to clarify further. Are you considering moving over to this plan so you can work on your store for a while, and get it ready to eventually go live? I would love to hear about your plans, and what you will be working on!
