Can individual store owners manage inventory on a centralized online platform?

Good day, I have an idea for a local Shopify store and would like to find out if what I have in mind is possible.

In my country, you have a lot of local stores that have numerous product that if made available online would tremendously boost sales. My goal is to create a Shopify store front where individual businesses can upload their inventory to the website and sell their products online from one centralized website.

I know Shopify allows you to have multiple warehouses from the same company and an admin would update the inventory for each location, however what I would like to find out are the following:

  1. Could each individual store owner be given the ability to login to an inventory application and add, update and delete their products and it reflects instantly on the main website?

  2. Which application would be best suited, if possible, to do this seamlessly?
