Can not import Customers file csv was exported from another Shopify shop, or upload the template file of shopify customer_template.csv ???

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with importing a customer CSV file, to get this resolved. To ensure I’m fully understanding, are you receiving an error when importing the CSV file to the Shopify admin?

I recommend checking out our Importing and Exporting Customer Lists documentation, as it touches on how to successfully complete this. It outlines however, this can be achieved by:

  • Heading to the Customers Section, from the Shopify admin.

  • Click Import.

  • Click Add file, and then select your customer CSV file.

  • Optional: To update any existing customer profiles, then check Overwrite existing customers that have the same email or phone.

  • Click Import customers.

There are some key points to take into consideration when importing the customer CSV file to the Shopify admin. This includes the CSV file to be 1 MB or smaller. To work around this restriction, you can upload multiple CSV files. It’s also recommended to utilize our Customer CSV Template to ensure the correct format is being followed.

It’s also important to note that some customer information cannot be transferred between platforms. Shopify only tracks what customers order and spend on your online store. It isn’t possible to import customer data for orders placed and money spent on another store or ecommerce platform.
