Do any of the product options app support draft orders?
Many of our orders come over the phone and we create draft orders for them. Some of our products have options that are not tied to variants. (Eg age, gift message, etc).
Our current method is to ask the options questions and then put the answer in the notes. There are 2 issues we’re encountering:

With lots of different products and each with their own associated options, often we’ll forget to ask the right questions.

We export the orders for processing and it would be much easier if this attribute came through in it’s own column not clumped together as part of the notes which might contain lots of other info as well.
The ideal app would be one that when a product is selected, it gives you a field for it’s required options, similar to the front end experience for the customer. Am I dreaming or is there some app that does this? Any other suggestions are welcome too!

I have made an app just for this! The app name is Draftable (https://apps.shopify.com/draftable)
This app lets you convert Abandoned Checkout to Draft Order easily with one click.
You can go to your store, select items with their own product options, add to cart and initiate checkout, in the checkout section you can input the customer information and shipping information as well (and discount code too if you want), then don’t complete the checkout, and this checkout info will appear in your Shopify Admin > Abandoned Checkout section.
After installing the app, you can go to the specific abandoned checkout you have just created, select ‘More actions’ > ‘Create Draft Order’, and now you have a draft order with product options!

Our draft orders don’t come from amandoned check outs. They are generally when a user creates an order with us over the phone. Does your app support this usecase?

Ah sorry my app doesn’t support if your user creates an order (as in checkout and complete payment step), or creates a draft order directly via another app that modifies the checkout process.
Is it feasible to ask your user to not complete the payment step during checkout? Like they can initiate add to cart and checkout as usual, but as long as they dont complete the payment step, you should get an abandoned checkout in your Shopify admin.

Sorry if my comment was not clear just now, I mean you / or your staff who is answering the phone can create an abandoned checkout manually while taking the order, then turn this into draft order later on.

I have made an app that lets you input product options (line item properties) to each of the items in draft order, it is less than ideal as it does not show all the required options for the items, but you still can choose to manually input it if you would like to.

After installing the app, go to your draft order, then select “More actions” on the top right corner, and select “Edit line item properties” , then click “Edit properties” on the item you want to edit the product options.
