Can Shopify be used as a restricted product listing without ecommerce?

Hey everyone,

We currently use shopify for many of our stores, but we now have a need to create a restricted listing for our vendors. We don’t want this website to be publicly accessible, so it would need some form of authentication to access. This will be purely used to help our vendors view our products, sort by garment type/size and search based on tag. No purchasing ability will be needed. Is this possible or should i be looking at a different web option? We currently use wordpress for this purpose, but it’s horribly slow and doesn’t allow the same functionality.

As I understand, you’re looking to restrict access to your Shopify store so that it is only accessible to vendors, with the public being unable to view it. You can apply a lock on complete Stroe or selected products using customer tags, passcodes, etc.
