We give our products a description on the website as that is easier for the consumer, however we run our financial sales/ stock keeping by the item product code. Currently we are integrated to a 3rd party stock system but would like to move it all to Shopify.
Not interested in changing the description and will add the item product code as a tag, is there a report that can be run by an individual tag for sales and one for stock.

It provide ability to built any report and report by product tags too (it’s built-in report)
Unfortunately, tag reporting is missing in Shopify. You can read more about it at the end of this article.
