Hi @Debs
I took a look at GentleBlushes and there are a lot of nice touches—good variety in aroma/home fragrance/lifestyle scent items, policies are visible, and navigation is pretty comprehensive. But since conversions are probably what you want to improve, here are five focused areas to sharpen to help encourage more sales.
1. Build Trust & Credibility
The store has visible policies (Privacy, Refunds, Shipping, Terms, etc.), which is great. But adding customer reviews (especially for scent/fragrance quality, burn time, usage) on product pages will help buyers feel more confident.
Customer reviews are visible but not very detailed—real photos, dates, or more personal reviews would reassure buyers.Customers are more likely to purchase when they trust the store. You should add product reviews using a tool like ShopReviews ‑ Product Reviews - ShopReviews - Boost your sales with product reviews | Shopify App Store, which makes collecting and displaying real customer feedback seamless
Use trust badges/seals near checkout or product images (secure payment, authenticity, cruelty-free, etc.) to reduce hesitation.
Ensure “About Us” has a strong, personable story about why you started GentleBlushes and what makes your scents/herbs materials special. That emotional connection helps.
2. Hero Section & Storytelling
Currently, the homepage goes quickly into collections. Adding a hero banner with a value proposition like “Elevate Your Space with Scented Calm — Handcrafted Aroma Products UK” plus a “Shop Now” CTA would help visitors understand immediately what makes your brand special.
Include a highlight (e.g. “New this month” or “Customer favourites”) to guide visitors toward noteworthy products.
3. Product Navigation & Discovery
The collections menu is thorough, which is good, but there are many categories. Some users might find it overwhelming. Use filters (by price, scent type, rating, perhaps “most popular”) to help shoppers quickly narrow down options.
A “Trending / Best Sellers” section on homepage or category pages will help guide visitors toward items others love.
4. Product Pages: Conversion Helpers
Product descriptions are needful; ensure you include scent profile, burn time (for candles/incense), usage tips, and material details. Those help people feel they know what they’re buying.
More lifestyle imagery or photos of products in ambient home settings (rather than just product shots) could help shoppers imagine using them themselves.
Add small urgency cues where applicable — e.g. “Only a few left”, or “Ships within 1-2 days” to push people who are on the fence.
5. Incentives, Engaging Offers & UX Polishing
Highlight a first-purchase incentive or discount through a popup or banner (e.g. “10% off your first order when you subscribe”).
Show free shipping thresholds clearly, if you have them.
Ensure the add-to-cart / buy buttons are very visible and easy to tap on mobile. Given fragrance/home decor shoppers often browse from tablet or phone, mobile UX matters heavily.
Consider offering bundles or “Scented Set / Starter Kit” options to increase average order value.
If you’re also selling on Etsy, consider using an app like Etsy Integration ‑ ShopList - ShopList - seamless integration between Shopify and Etsy | Shopify App Store . It lets you sync your products and orders between Shopify and Etsy automatically, saving time and helping you manage inventory more efficiently—perfect for handmade or customized products like yours.
Best Regards,
