So today I deleted the Shopify Manifest app from my store because it was a worthless piece of junk. However, I do still need a way to generate and print manifests or USPS scan sheets. I searched through the app store but was overwhelmed with a billion fulfillment apps that do way more than I need. I am configured to use the discounted postage labels available in Shopify and happy with that. All I need is a way to generate and print the manifests.
Ideally I would enter the from and to dates for the orders I want included in the manifest. I am fully aware of the USPS rules about what can be included in a manifest/scan sheet, so the app needs to trust me that I did it right. (If I didn’t, the post office will let ME know, haha!) I need to be able to enter dates, because while I strive to fulfill my orders within 24 hours, there are times when I can’t get to them until a day or two after they’re placed. The app can check that the postage labels were generated within the past 24 hours, but it needs to allow orders older than that. (Basically trust me that I know what I’m doing, and the Shopify Manifest app doesn’t.)
Does anybody here know of one like that?
Hi @Sharon15 ,
I can understand your concern!
Have you tried PH MultiCarrier Shipping Label? This app is a complete shipping solution that not only allows you to print USPS manifests in a click but also displays accurate rates, prints shipping labels, schedules pickups & tracks orders in real time.
Since you are using Shopify Shipping, I assume that you are not having your USPS account, and to use the app you have to have your own carrier account. Using your own account provides you with more control & authority over the shipping rates.
Let me know if you have any queries, I will be happy to help!
I don’t want a full shipping solution. I like the Shopify configuration for now. All I need is a way to generate the scan sheets in a reliable way - meaning it should let me pick which orders/labels to include in the sheet.
Hi Sharon,
Did you ever get an answer to your above question. I have the same problem. It may take me a few days to get my packages to the post office. Thanks.
David
Hi David, no I never did. I did, however finally figure out that the Shopify manifest app is just designed to produce a manifest only for “today’s” orders going out. I’m not at all sure why they designed it that way. Just for an example, with this design, you’d have to generate a manifest every day of the week, including Sundays and holidays when the mail does not run. Why not just do the manifest on Monday mornings or the day after a postal holiday that includes all of it?
I was going to have someone write a custom app for me but it quickly became just a huge endeavor so we dropped it. I’m still not using any manifests, but I’m going to need to start using them soon with the way my business is growing.
Thanks for getting back to me.
