I want to pass UTM data into liquid so I can use it to display dynamic data. Is this possible?
Hey Nagumi, I know this is from a while ago, but thought it might still be of interest. We just launched an app called “Context” that can help you display dynamic content based on UTM parameters. You can actually display dynamic content based on a number of rule types (one which includes UTM parameters).
For example you could have your homepage display a promotional banner and a specific category of products by telling it what UTM parameters to look for. Once Context sees the UTM parameters in the URL, it instantly displays the content you want to show to those visitors.
We’ve launched with these rule types but many more are coming in the next few months.
- UTM parameters (ie. display content based on campaign parameters).
- Date Range (great for time based promotions)
- Geo Location (Only show to customers from specific locations)
- Weather (Only show block if the weather is “X” for the customer)
All of these rules can be combined with each other too. For example you may want to display a promotion to customers from Denver, Colorado between a certain data range OR show a promotion to visitors from Seattle, Washington, when the rain is forecasted in the next 7 days.
Hey Mark,
That’s pretty much what I’m looking for. But not quite.
Do you think it would be possible to display product information based on the product number in the UTM? Could this be an interesting feature for you?
For example: a customer scans a QR on a product label myshop.com/survey?utm_campaign=MYPRODUCTID and lands on a page with a survey. I’d like to have information about the product he scanned in addition to the survey to fill in.
The idea is not to send customers to a product page to get information about a product.
Thanks
Hey @MathieuKessler , Thanks for the note. This sounds really interesting. I’ve sent you a DM to learn more.
