Can we alter the payment method sequence on checkout page?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to change the payment method sequence on the checkout page?
I have added an alternative payment method and would like to set it on top of the list.

FYI. I need to switch to an alternative payment Gateway, because Shopify does not offer a way to hide the express checkout button (for PayPal and others). So I deactivated Paypal in Shopify and have added it via Mollie. And now this…
Hope Shopify will offer this option soon, or allow customers to hide the express checkout buttons.
Would be interisting how many others facing issues with this.

This issue can only be resolved with Shopify Plus which allows you to reorder payment methods as needed.

@JHKCreate Thank you for the info. I’m sure you just want to help.
But at least 2000$ per month for the possibility to change the order of the payment methods? This is not an option (for me) and especially not for people that just start their shop.

There isn’t really another way to modify anything on checkout unfortunately as the file “checkout.liquid” is locked for Shopify Plus members only.

I really wish this was a BASIC option or atleast maybe even a one time fee to change the order 2k+ a month for a small store is a waste of $$

Now NO need to pay $2K for just reorder payment sequence. It is now possible with an app and that works with any Shopify’s plan. (paid app $4.99/month)

There is no other way because Shopify don’t want to give you another way. The platform only becomes flexible if you want to pay the extorsion money.
