As the title says, we’re hoping to have a form that produces draft orders that will act as quotes for customers. We are currently using the forms app and a zapier connection. This works okay except:
- It costs money from consuming zaps from Zapier
- It does not calculate shipping and that needs to be manually added in the draft orders page
Both of the above are minor, but it would be nice if there was a way to do this within shopify. The checkout page essentially would do this except instead of producing an order it would be nice if we could make a separate page similar to it that produced a draft order. I am fairly resourceful but not a programmer and as such I felt as suggesting the checkout page as a base seemed like a good starting point. Any help or extra info would be wonderful.

Thank you Paul, would there be any case in which you would suggest to have a programmer do it from scratch to avoid a monthly subscription (if at all possible)?
Only if the total cost of custom app development and ongoing maintenance is worth it to the business or experience.
Think about it if a monthly app can provide feature X generating revenue “A” for the cost “B” .
If A is greater than B why wouldn’t you use the app until there’s some reason to take full ownership of the process.
