Is it possible to use the pre-order functionally on platforms like Instagram, Facebook or TikTok? Or is the pre-ordering is only available for online stores?

It’s possible to use the pre-order functionality as long as your store is eligible. I went through TikTok’s help center and couldn’t find any details about this. I suggest reaching out directly to inquire further to see if this is an option. On the other hand, Facebook and Instagram have this feature available to businesses in the United States using Meta’s checkout, which would require some additional setup from your end. If you’re still interested, feel free to check out this guide to set this up. Do keep in mind that this won’t be possible through your Meta channel on Shopify as the product requirements state that you are unable to list an item without a price.
In terms of setting up pre-orders for your online shop, this is possible through the use of a preorder app from the Shopify App Store and then you can follow this guide to apply it to certain items.
