What you have described is essentially the process that typically occurs when you set up an externalthird party payment gateway to your store. Upon wishing to checkout their cart, a customer will be directed to the payment gateway website directly to process the payment and will be brought back to the Shopify checkout system upon completion of the order. This will generate all the necessary information for the order automatically to your admin.
* Note: Some third party payment gateways are considered direct providers or external providers. External providers are as described above. Direct providers will allow the customer to remain within the Shopify checkout throughout the entire process
With that being said, these automatic triggers to be redirected to the external payment providers are only possible when using a third party payment gateway that is available in your country. Would you be able to tell me a little bit more about which payment gateway you are looking to utilize as well as your country of business? I’ll be happy to look into this for you and see what can be done.
We are interested in leveraging Shopify as a storefront for the exhibition of our products for which they then can be purchased via our own payment infrastructure. We are based in the United States.
We are only able to support the integration of third party payment gateways from our list of vetted providers. In a case such as this, your best option would be to work alongside a Shopify Expert who will be able to assist with the intricate API modifications needed to facilate the redirect to your own payment infrastructure.
I hope this helps. If I can clarify anything else, please let me know.
