i want to deactivate shoppay payment method, but actually the manage button near Shopify payments in payments is not clickable, please help
Topic summary
User cannot deactivate Shop Pay because the âManageâ button next to Shopify Payments in Payments settings is greyed out (screenshot provided).
Key context:
- Shop Pay: an accelerated checkout option tied to Shopify Payments.
- Shopify Payments: Shopifyâs in-house payment gateway; managing it requires specific permissions.
Suggested cause:
- The account currently logged into the admin likely lacks permissions to manage Shopify Payments (e.g., a staff account rather than the Account Owner). In such cases, the âManageâ option appears greyed out.
Recommended actions:
- Verify you are logged in as the Account Owner.
- Navigate to Settings > Staff and Permissions to confirm which account is the Account Owner and which are staff.
- Log in as the Account Owner to access the Manage controls and deactivate Shop Pay.
Status:
- No confirmation of resolution yet; the responder invited a follow-up if logging in as the Account Owner does not resolve the issue.
Hey there, @murtazakhan1215 . Thanks so much for reaching out to the Shopify Community with this situation youâre facing with your Shopify Payments. Itâs good to meet you!
Usually, the option is greyed out for âmanageâ if youâre currently logged into the admin via an account that doesnât have permissions to manage Shopify Payments. Are you perhaps logging into your admin via a staff account, and not your Account Owner profile? I recommend that you double-check this to make sure. You can also go to âSettings > Staff and Permissionsâ to see what accounts are attached to the store in an Account Owner capacity, and as a staff capacity.
Check to make sure youâre logging in as the Account Owner, as they should resolve this for you! Follow up with me here if that doesnât seem to do the trick!
