Cannot Download the Shopify app on Google Pixel with Google Fi

For some reason, I am not able to download the Shopify app to use on my phone. I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro with Google Fi, and the play store will not allow me to download the app. I also can’t download other unrelated apps like the GoPro app for some reason. I’m wondering if the OS or Google itself does not allow certain apps to be downloaded.

Is this an OS issue, or an app issue, or can certain apps only be downloaded onto certain types of phones with certain operating systems?

Hello, @DuncanF !

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing.

It is indeed possible that the problem you’re experiencing with downloading the Shopify app and other apps could be related to the operating system compatibility, app availability, or specific device restrictions.

The Shopify app is compatible with Android devices and iOS devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple WatchOS 6.0, and iPod Touch. The supported OS versions are as follows:

  • iOS: version 15 or later
  • Android: version 8.0.0 or later

To determine the version of your Google Pixel 6 Pro’s operating system, could you please let me know which version it is currently running?

Additionally, it’s worth noting that certain apps may not be available in specific regions. If an app is not available in your region, you will typically see a message indicating its unavailability in the app store. This was the case for me when I lived in another country!

You can also try clearing the Google Play Store’s app cache and data as a troubleshooting step. To do this, go to the settings of your device, navigate to the “Apps” or “Applications” section, find the Google Play Store app, and clear its cache and data. This might help resolve the issue.

Please let me know how it goes, and if you have any further questions or need additional assistance!
