Cannot embed Vimeo video in Clean Canvas Symmetry theme

I’m not sure if this issue is Shopify-related or theme-related so I figured I’d start here for help and if it’s theme-related, I’ll reach out to Clean Canvas. I did see someone else having this same issue in a Shopify Community post from March 2021 but there was no resolution.

I am inputting a link to a Vimeo video for my homepage header banner. I’m getting an error that says “Can’t connect to Vimeo. Try again later.” But when I try ‘later,’ I’m still getting the issue. I tried various privacy settings - originally I had it set to only embed on our domain and then I tried just saying “anywhere” for embedding to ensure that wasn’t the issue. But I still get the same message. Any ideas?!

UPDATE: I’ve discovered that the video link works fine if I’m using the section type “background video” but if I’m trying to use a “video” section type (which is the only type where I can have sound with the video), then I get the error message. ???

So I think the problem is link related, it’s the theme or Shopify.

You can try entering another link eg: https://vimeo.com/186240055

Thank you, @LitExtension . I have been working with the theme developer now but we are finding some oddities that may point to it being a Vimeo issue actually (not links used or theme). Or perhaps it could be a Shopify issue but the team at Clean Canvas is being very supportive and helpful in trying to help me get to the bottom of it! Thanks for the attempted help!
