Cannot Reconnect Shopify to Existing Meta Catalog & Pixel (Stuck on Shopify SDK)

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a persistent issue with the Facebook & Instagram app on Shopify. After disconnecting Meta from Shopify, I’m unable to reconnect my existing catalog and pixel.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • In Meta Commerce Manager, my catalog still shows the data source as Shopify SDK, even though it’s no longer connected in Shopify.

  • When I try to reconnect through the Shopify Facebook & Instagram app, it doesn’t give me the option to use the existing catalog or pixel — it only prompts me to create new ones.

  • I’ve confirmed I have admin access to the Business Manager, Pixel, and Catalog. I’ve also tried clearing cache, using incognito, and reinstalling the Shopify app.

  • The catalog and pixel are critical for my ads, but Shopify won’t detect them properly.

Has anyone managed to fully unlink the old “Shopify SDK” connection so the existing catalog/pixel can be reconnected? Or is this something only Meta Commerce Support can reset on the backend?

Any guidance would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

This is pretty common headache with the Facebook & Instagram (Meta) app on Shopify, and you’re not alone.

Steps you can take before escalating to Meta.

  1. Check Meta Commerce Manager.
  2. Maually assign the pixel/catalog.
  3. Try reconnecting with advanced settings.

So short answer if you’ve done all the right troubleshooting steps. If you can’t manually remove the Shopify SDK data source in commerce Manager, then yes, only Meta Support can reset it on backend.

If you need technical support then feel free to drop a message in the p/m.
Thanks

Hi,

did you able to figure out the issue?

If not i would like to suggest you to install or sync the catalogue manually.

configure facebook pixel and conversion API through Google Tag manager GTM.
