Can't cancel paused store subscription without login details: Any experiences?

Several years ago I had several stores with the email address attached to the domain.

I put one store on pause, I cannot remember which one and I keep getting billed each month.

I have contacted “support” several times over the years to cancel the subscription, they say I need to login to cancel.

I said, “I no longer have my login details and do not even know what store I put on pause, however, I can provide the last few years transaction ID’s so you can locate the store and cancel the subscription”, Shopify refused to help.

I asked if they planned to bill me forever for an account I cannot use and do not have the login details for, they said, essentially, yes, I will be billed until I login and cancel.

This has been going on for 4-6 years and is now beyond a joke, has anyone experienced a similar situation and did you manage to resolve it?

If you’re interested, you can retrieve the names of all stores associated with your email address by entering it here.

In order to stop the charges on your account, we will need to remove your method of payment. Since it’s currently not possible for you to log in to your own account(s), you can instead share the 8- or 9-digit invoice number associated with your most recent charge with our team. This will help us locate the invoice on our end, so that we can remove the method of payment ourselves. If it’s possible that your credit card is attached to multiple stores, you can repeat these steps as necessary.

Please let me know if you have any difficulty locating those invoice numbers - typically these are not visible on mobile apps, so you may wish to view a desktop or paper copy of your bank statement.
