Can't delete my account and feel like I'm being held hostage

Good evening,

So you saw the title. I would like to say that whoever thinks this is a good idea to hold users hostage to keep them from deleting their accounts unless they pay shouldn’t be running this company. That is very greedy of you to do that. I really don’t want to keep this and my admin Shopify account so if there’s no other solution to delete my account, I will abandon it for as long as I can unless I have the income that I have to run a store here. Again, holding users hostage unless they pay is so messed up. Hope to hear back. Thank you.

I appreciate the context that you have shared with us as that is very helpful! Are you able to successfully login into your online store? If so, you can deactivate your online store by navigating to Settings > Plan > Deactivate store. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:

Unless I pay, no I can’t. So either please find another solution or I can just abandon my account. I’m not joking around.

In this case, if you are experiencing issues with successfully logging in to deactivate your online store, you can get in touch with our live support by filling out this form.

Once you successfully fill out the form, you should be able to see the options to Get Support and speak directly with a Support Advisor about the situation.
