Hi, I just watched the Shopify Edition Summer '23 Walkthrough Demo and saw that there is an official Shopify subscriptions app. Unfortunately I can’t find it anywhere in the app store. Is it available for all Shopify plans? Is it available in Germany? What’s the reason I can’t find it?

There is no “Official” Shopify Subscription App. Not one provided by Shopify directly, although some themes allow for selling limited subscription types.
Some of the most popular subscription apps for Shopify are:
-Appstle
-Recharge
-Loop
-RecurrinGO (full disclosure, we are an affiliate partner of this app)
They are all GREAT but my recommendation currently to clients is Appstle Subscriptions. They have top-tier features, while having a very reasonable price (around $30/mo usually) compared to similar apps with the same features (looking at you recharge $99/mo 
, they are the market leader that is why) plus they have a free plan with slightly less features.
But like I said they are all great, with great support just varying features.

Sorry, I’m not really satisfied with these answers. I posted the official Shopify video, as you can see. It starts right at the point where the big title “SHOPIFY SUBSCRIPTIONS” gets shown and where the official Shopify guy states that “we’re gonna launch the SHOPIFY SUBSCRIPTIONS APP…”??? Feels like gaslighting to be honest here. Where is this app to be found?

The Shopify Subscriptions app has not launched yet. You can sign up for the upcoming early access using the sign-up form available. If selected to participate in the early access, the product team will be reaching out to you via email in waves throughout August.

At the time of the Shopify Edition Summer '23, the Shopify Subscriptions app wasn’t yet launched. They have announced it, but then launched it in January 2024.
It is now launched and available to everyone. You can find it here: https://apps.shopify.com/categories/selling-products-purchase-options-subscriptions
Overall, there are different subscription apps in Shopify right now and each of them has a unique set of features. It is generally a good idea to check more of them and see which one fits your needs best.
