Cant upload product images any more !

Topic summary

A user is unable to upload product images to their Shopify store, receiving an error message stating “Adding this file will exceed the file storage limit for your plan.”

The user finds this confusing because:

  • They are on the Shopify plan ($90/month)
  • The plan comparison page advertises “unlimited free hosting”
  • This contradicts the storage limit error they’re encountering

A support representative suggested this may be a technical glitch and recommended standard troubleshooting steps:

  • Switch to different browsers
  • Use another device
  • Clear cookies and cache

Status: The issue remains unresolved, with the root cause unclear—whether it’s a genuine plan limitation, billing issue, or technical bug.

For some reason Shopify wont let me upload images for my new products

it says “Media upload failed: Adding this file will exceed the file storage limit for your plan.”

This is misleading and when i signed up for my plan (Shopify plan 90$/month) it says “unlimited free hosting” …

i just checked their plans comparison page it still says that …
