Hi - since i CAN’T find a way to reach out to shopify support directly, i thought i would ask for help here. I need to enable the carrier-calculated shipping for a third party app. I am on the Glow Plan/ Pay Annually. Per the third party app support agent, i need to have shopify enable this for my store since i am on the annual plan. It also states on my plan - “additional paid service” for this feature. Whether they enable it or i need to pay an addtl charge, I just need someone to guide me how to get shopify support to help me with this. TIA!
This is actually pretty common on annual plans, so you’re not missing anything obvious.
Carrier-calculated shipping can’t be turned on from the admin unless you’re on Advanced or Plus. On plans like Glow (even paid annually), Shopify has to enable it manually on their end as an add-on. That’s why the app is telling you to contact Shopify — they can only check whether it’s enabled, not activate it.
A couple things that usually help when reaching support:
-
Make sure you’re logged into your store when you go to the Shopify Help Center
-
Follow any shipping-related article (Shipping rates, carriers, etc.) and scroll down to the Contact support option
-
Ask specifically for carrier-calculated shipping to be added as a paid add-on
Even though your plan is annual, the add-on itself is usually billed monthly. Once Shopify enables it, the third-party app should recognize it automatically.
If support isn’t clear at first, it’s worth reiterating that you’re requesting the carrier-calculated shipping add-on, not a plan change, that usually gets things moving.
@2tipsy you already described everything you need to do, so bots are just gonna regurgitate that.
Don’t overcomplicate it.
Go to https://help.shopify.com/ > chat with a human
And just tell them you needed third-party-carrier-calculated-shipping added to the store plan.
