Cart shows error but still kinda works

Hi all. I need some urgent help please. In my store, when you try to go from the cart to the checkout page, a message pops up saying “there was an error updating your cart. Please try again.”.

However, it does move on from there after like 1-2 seconds. I’m worried some people might see the error message and bounce. What could be happening?

Some context:

-Store is simplence.cl

  • i have a small script that asks for an id in the cart page (although there’s no validation, you could literally input anything haha)

  • the product page is created with Pagefly. Add to cart takes you directly to the cart page since I only have one product

Any ideas please? :slightly_smiling_face:

You can solved this issue through reverting the page

Try to click on original page of theme.liquid file which’s shown in above pic

Hi @lxortega ,

Thanks for reaching out here. I’m sorry to hear about the trouble. Yes, I agree. This type of error message can be a deal breaker and should be fixed as soon as possible.

Reverting your theme.liquid file to the previous version might be a good idea, but you have to keep in mind that you’re going to lose all previous changes if there were any. Also, what theme do you use?

Before trying that method, I’d suggest installing a fresh new version of the theme and checking if the same error appears on the new theme. If not, we can narrow it down to the current live theme issue.

You mentioned landing pages created via the app and a custom script that is running on the cart page. If the issue is specific to the current theme, try to remove the script from the cart page template and see if that resolves the issue. Finally, I recommend getting in touch with the Pagefly support team to establish if any app changes are affecting the cart’s functionality in this case. Their support email is happytohelp@pagefly.io.

Let me know what you find.
