As we integrate multiple dropship suppliers to our stshould a client purchase multiple items from different suppliers, would it have an impact on his/her shopping cart purchase i.e need to make 2 separate payments?

You are the seller / store, your customers buy from you. Dropshipping just means your suppliers ship directly to the customer instead of to your warehouse.
Same logic as if you buy something from a department store, you don’t make separate payments for each brand, you pay the store. In this case you are the store.
You do have the option though, of either grouping shipping into 1 ship rate, or having a different ship rate for different products. It’s more user friendly just to charge a single rate, but you do have the option to charge multiple.
