Change border around variant picker to underline

I wish to change the border around my variant picker to an underline. I use dawn theme. Please see below photo examples.

You can try this code by following these steps:

Step 1: Go to Online Store->Theme->Edit code.

Step 2: Search file base.css

Step 3: Paste the below code at bottom of the file → Save

.select:after {

box-shadow: none !important;

border-bottom: 1px solid !important;

}

Once I click to change variant, the border returns. Is there a way to change this so it remains underlined?
