We currently offer 2 shipping options to customers. A free and ‘priority’ shipping option. Due to the nature of our product the priority shipping option should be the standard but shopify keeps checking the free option by default. How can we change this?

Hi there!
Shopify will always pick the cheapest option at the checkout. There is no way to set the default shipping option.
Alternatively, if the both options are free under certain conditions (e.g., your ‘priority’ option is free if the total price of the cart is above a certain value), then Shopify will alphabetically pick the default option. In that case, if the options are named alphabetically (or by number, e.g, ‘1 - Priority’ and ‘2 - Free’), Shopify will pick the option whose first letter comes first in the alphabet.
