I am attempting to edit a product page on Shopify. I noticed that changes made in the product pages editor on one product apply to all products, unless it is a change that was made specifically in the products editor.
For example, I have tabs enabled for our product called The Rig. Those same tabs are then enabled for our product called The Guard Pack. When I try to change the contents on the Guard Pack page, the changes then apply on The Rig page. If I try to remove the tabs altogether from the Guard Pack page, the tabs are also removed from The Rig page. How do I get around this?
Are you using an app to utilize the product tabs feature on your store? Or perhaps a theme that has the feature built in? If so, what theme are you using?
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
When you are editing your theme within the Theme Editor (Online Store > Themes > Edit Theme) you are adjusting the way the website looks across all pages. You can use the theme editor to create unique templates for each type of page you might have (Example: FAQs, Shipping Policy, Return Policy, Contact Us, etc) or you can create a basic layout for all pages and edit the page content from within the individual page details inside the admin.
If you are just adding standard text or image content to the pages then you will want to instead do that from where you created the pages themselves. Please have a look at the screenshot below:
You can also create new product templates from within the theme editor by choosing the “Create Template” option from the drop down menu at the top of the editor and then apply this template to your product.
