Topic summary
Goal: In Dawn 11.0, rename the footer legal (policies) menu “Contact information/Kontaktinformationen” to “Contact/Kontakt” and point it to a custom Contact page, including German translation.
What works:
- Navigation > menus only affects the “Quick links” footer menu, not the small policies menu beside the copyright.
- Titles can be renamed via Online store > Themes > … > Edit default theme content > … > Checkout & system > “Checkout Shop Policies” (works for EN/DE).
What doesn’t:
- Policies pages aren’t in Online store > Pages, and Settings > Policies only allows editing text, not titles or URLs.
- Changing the URL via Edit website SEO applies only to a Contact page created under Online store > Pages; it does not change the destination of the legal/policies footer link, which still points to Shopify’s policy-based Contact page.
Latest guidance/outcome:
- Staff confirmed the URL can’t be changed for a Contact page generated under Settings > Policies and suggested contacting Shopify Support to review store-specific setup.
- User will contact Support. Issue remains unresolved in-thread.
