Shopify store online store editing used to be really simple. it’s the whole reason I went with shopify in the first place. When you’re editing your site, and you click on “my Store” text, you expect to be able to edit it. Not only is there no way to edit it, they don’t even include a link to the place where you CAN edit it. It’s offensively bad and inconvenient for the user (us). The process for changing this text field is really dumb.

Anyway, the answer to your question: you have to get out of the online website editor completely (I know…). Go to your shopify admin homepage, at the bottom left, click on “Settings” then click general (if it’s not already selected. The result on the right should say: Store Details: the first option under that will actually list your business name. If you edit that, change it from “My Store” to something else, then that is what will show up on the online store editing page. …like I said: really dumb.
