Change text opacity on Image banner Craft theme

Topic summary

A user seeks to increase text opacity from approximately 90% to 100% on an image banner in Shopify’s Craft theme. The issue specifically affects the second text phrase on the banner, which appears slightly transparent instead of completely white.

Initial troubleshooting attempts:

  • Custom CSS code was suggested to modify .banner__box opacity settings
  • Confusion arose about whether the issue involved button transparency or text opacity
  • Mobile vs. desktop section differences were noted

Resolution:

  • The original poster found the solution independently by adjusting a setting in the theme’s liquid file
  • The fix involved switching a value from 0.75 to 1.0 (as shown in a screenshot)
  • Another user later asked for clarification, and was directed to locate this setting in the theme editor’s liquid file and change it to 1.00

I’m trying to change the text opacity on the image banner to 100% and none of the previous answers on similar questions helped. Think the opacity is about 90% now.

Hi @Rugcrft

You can do that by adding this code to Custom CSS of that section

.banner__box {
background: transparent;
opacity: 0.5;
}

Thx but i meant i want the the second phrase on the screen to be completely white and not that slight transparent

You have not added link to button so it slight transparent like that.

I have :confused: but it’s not about the button it’s only about the writing

You added link button for desktop section, not mobile section

Found the solution to my own question :slightly_smiling_face:

Had to switch it from 0.75 to 1.00

What file did you make this change in? Having the same issue.

Hi @Mary_Johnson

This can be find on the theme.liquid file. Just change it on 1.00 and save.
