Change Thank You Page URL? FB Google Conversion Tracking

Topic summary

Conversion tracking for Facebook and Google Ads is failing to register purchases tied to a dynamic thank-you URL. Current URL pattern: https://mixsupps.com/checkouts/c/RANDOMNUMBERS/thank_you. The user set Facebook events to fire on URLs containing /thank_you but is not seeing conversions reflected in Ads Manager.

The user believes a different URL pattern (e.g., /checkouts/c/thank_you/RANDOMNUMBERS) would simplify tracking in both platforms and asks if the URL structure can be changed or another setup can show conversions in Ads Manager.

A responder states changing the URL structure is not possible. No specific workaround or alternative method was provided.

Key points:

  • Goal: Attribute conversions to Facebook and Google ads via the post-purchase “thank you” page.
  • Issue: Events trigger on /thank_you but do not appear as conversions in Ads Manager.
  • Constraint: URL structure change deemed not possible.
  • Open question: Whether there is a workable solution to track conversions directly in Ads Manager instead of only within Facebook Events.

Status: Unresolved; seeking practical tracking workaround.

Hello All!

I’m trying to setup my conversion tracking for FB ads and I can’t seem to get it to show my conversions in my Ad Manager.

My current thank you page URL structure is like this:

https://mixsupps.com/checkouts/c/RANDOMNUMBERS/thank_you

I’ve already setup FB events to track URLs containing: /thank_you but I’m not seeing those conversions in my Ads Manager for some reason. I’m fairly new to this, but I fee like if the URL structure were:

https://mixsupps.com/checkouts/c/thank_you/RANDOMNUMBERS

then setting up conversion tracking in both FB and Google Ads would be really straightforward. Is there a way to either change the URL structure or to get it setup so that I can see conversions in both FB and Google Ads Manager?

TIA!

no sorry its not possible

@KetanKumar Thanks for the reply!

Follow up question, if you’d be so kind. Is there a workable solution to be able to track my conversions in the Ads Manager rather than in FB events?
