Change the colour of the white space either side of the image and text sections in dawn theme

Hi there,

I’m trying to change the white space behind the image and text section on a page. The option to choose background colour only changes the colour directly behind the text. How do I change the colour of the white spacing around the whole section to black (Or inverse) Like the rest of the site?
