Change the sender name of order confirmation emails

Hi there,

When someone purchases from mystore the sender name appears as “Toolkit93” in their inbox. This was the placeholder name I used when setting up my Shopify store as “Toolkit” was taken.

I have changed the store name to “Toolkit”, however confirmation emails are still appearing as “Toolkit93” in customers inboxes, which is confusing.

Any ideas on how to change the sender name so it appears as “Toolkit”?

Hi, @Toolkit .

Elias here with Shopify Support. Thank you for reaching out.

The sender name should be attached to your store name, which you’ve already changed. However, it is possible that your inbox has stored the name for this email, so it may be worth testing with a different email or by making sure the email is completely removed from the contacts in your inbox.

I’d love to know if the sender name appears correctly in a different inbox. Keep me posted!

Hi Elias,

I think you hit the nail on the head with the issue. Seemed to be affecting Gmail inboxes, but can confirm the name correctly came through when I used my work email address which goes to an Outlook inbox.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I think I got the same issue, contact email for shopify is awakninfo@gmail.com but I would like customer to see info@basedway.com as my business mail, I set everything up but still don’t work, I still see awakninfo@gmail.com as sender, what can I do?Thanks

Hi, @pokernico .

Thank you for joining the thread!

I understand that you’re looking to change the customer contact email for your store and it’s not working. Just to confirm, are you using email forwarding with a Shopify-managed domain? Also, did you add info@basedway.com as the Sender email in the Store details of the Settings?

If you’ve added the email to the Sender email and you have email forwarding setup correctly but it’s still not working, then it looks like we’ll need to access your account in order to resolve this issue.
