Hi guys, I’ll need some help with changing the size (making it smaller) of a slideshow on my Venture theme. I want everything on that slideshow to be visible entirely as soon as you open the webpage on desktop version.

Hi, @Stefan90s !
Olivia here from Shopify Community. Thanks for sharing your question with our network.
Adjust your slideshow’s height by heading to Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize Theme > Slideshow > Settings > Slide Height. There you can choose between ‘large’, ‘small’ and ‘adapt to first image’.
Note:
If that is not enough, one of our community members has provided excellent information on redefining the slideshow through adjusting your theme’s CSS at this link.
Feel free to check that out and further comment on the thread if you have questions about that particular use case.

When I click on Customize>Slideshow, I can’t find Setting anywhere. Where should I be looking?
Thanks for your reply, @ComicBrian !
Can you clarify which theme you are currently using and perhaps share a screenshot with me of what you do see once you go from Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize Theme?
Depending upon your theme and version this setting may not exist for you or be hiding elsewhere, however, I’d be glad to help further clarify once I hear back from you.
Warm regards,
Thank you for responding, Olivia! I use Venture version 6.0.1.
I’ve attached a screenshot where you can see the top and bottom cut off, as well as the original image made to the suggested dimensions. I’ve seen it cut off more depending on monitor size, but this gives an idea.
Thanks for your reply, @ComicBrian !
I’m afraid this is a screenshot of your slideshow only as opposed to the settings I requested - is it perhaps cut off to the left in your screenshot?
Please confirm if you are able to access them via Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize Theme. On the other hand if your concerns are related to how slideshow images adjust depending on screen size, then I encourage you to review our blog post on combatting image cropping in your slideshow.
Also a side note that I will be out of office for the next week and if you require immediate assistance our Live Team is on standby to help.
Warm regards,
Sorry, Olivia! I misunderstood what you wanted. When I click on the Customize button (there is no Customize Theme button), this is what I see.
Thank you so much, @ComicBrian !
As per the accepted solution, from here you should be able to click on Slideshow > Settings > Slide Height. Please let me know if you still have trouble locating it at that point, but it should be right under “Header” in your screenshot.
Warm regards,
Hi Olivia! This is what I see when I click no Slideshow. There is no Setting option there that I can see.
Thank you so much for that context, @ComicBrian !
Our support for vintage themes, such as Venture, is limited as they have been sunset and no longer available for download from our Theme Store. It’s then difficult for me to comment on whether this is occurring because your theme has been edited, or if the introduction of the Online Store 2.0 is preventing that setting from appearing.
I am unable to access your account from our public spaces to provide insight, but our live team can absolutely offer further troubleshooting. We look forward to connecting with you at your earliest convenience.
Warm regards,
Thank you for explaining that, Olivia! I will get in touch with the live team!
