When a product is sold out, is there a way to change the text “This product is unavailable” in the Symmetry theme to read, “Sold Out” instead?
Hey @thereoutfitter
Could you please provide your Store URL and, if applicable, the Password too? Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
Best Regards,
Moeed
By default, it will appear as “Sold Out” instead of “This product is unavailable”.
“This product is unavailable” will appear if product link is incorrect so please check if that product link is correct or not.
In the product-template.liquid file
or product-form.liquid file.
You have to mark a condition according to product quantity,
{% if product.inventory == 'avilable' %}
Add to cart button code
{% else %}
sold out button code
{% endif %}
the product link is correct.
But this is for the actually buy button right? Looking for when the product is 0 and doesn’t show an actual button.
@thereoutfitter
Yes in the else condition you can write code of unavailable product.
in if condition just add the add to cart code.
Could you share link of the page you get that message?
Sure here is one. When our products sell out, I would prefer it to say “Sold Out” vs “The product is unavailable”

You can try replacing the same from the default theme content section in Shopify admin dashboard.
If “This product is unavailable” is present in the Symmetry default theme content section then to locate and replace the text “This product is unavailable” with “Sold Out” in the default theme content section of Shopify, follow these steps:
-
Access your Shopify admin panel.
-
Navigate to Online Store > Themes.
-
Click on the options button next to the Customize button to open the options menu.
-
Choose the option labeled “Edit default theme content.”
-
In the Theme content window, search for the specific text string you want to modify.
-
Replace the identified text strings with your desired replacement text.
