I have had a couple of customers try to proceed to checkout and get the following error:
It had been working fine then suddenly this. Please help

That error has to do with security certificates.
Contact shopify support to check your configuration, and also your domain provider.
Were this a site which you configured the server, you would have to get a certificate so your site would be https secure. Shopify handles this for their servers’ certificates so you would have to contact them to get this resolved.

Just noticed in my account that my SSL certificate is “PENDING”. Do these renew every few months as it was working fine up until now
Sometimes, but this being your business, you can’t afford indefinite downtime. The best couse of action is to reach out for support both with shopify and your domain provider.
