Checkout Form Customization

Hi, I want to change some fields in checkout form. Basically, combine first and last name, take out some fields, change language, etc.

So this is what it looks like currently:

I want the fields to be like this

Anyone know of free apps or code edits to do that? Thank you!

Hi

You know, checkout is the least flexible part of Shopify (unless you’re on the Plus plan). You can customize the checkout form in Shopify Admin, but only in very limited ways. Here’s how you can do it:

• Combine First and Last Name:
  Go to Settings > Checkout in your Shopify admin.
  Under Form options, you can select Only require last name to combine the first and last name into a single field.

However, this will only make the first name optional. The field will still be there.

• Remove Unnecessary Fields:
  In the same Checkout settings, you can choose which fields to include or exclude.

• Change Checkout Language:
  To change the language of the checkout form, go to Settings > Checkout.
  Click on Manage checkout language. Here, you can customize the text for various fields and messages to match your preferred language.

Can you recommend some app to solve my issue? Would be nice if there’s a free one but if not then I guess we have no choice. Thanks so much!

If you want the exact look from the screenshot you shared, there isn’t a free app that can do that without a Shopify Plus plan. However, if you are on Shopify Plus, it might be possible to achieve it with some CSS changes.

Not really after the look. Just the fields if possible. I’d be open to paid apps if I don’t have a choice. Thanks!

It’s the same. Apps with such features all require a Shopify Plus plan because only Shopify Plus can customize the checkout.
