Checkout is unavailable due to technical problems


Anyone else getting this error? Customers are not able to checkout and I am losing sales! Please help!

It was a little while since you posted, so hopefully, your checkout is now working. However, if it’s not, please read on.

I can confirm by looking at the Shopify Server Status that there are no known issues at the moment, so this is something we’d need to investigate further by gaining access to your account. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback via the Shopify Help Center. This video clip shows you how to access the chat and email option. If you would prefer to speak with someone over the phone, please log in to your store when prompted to view the callback option. For the fastest support, I recommend selecting the chat option.

Before you contact Shopify Support it would be great if you could gather the following information:

  • When did the issue start?
  • How many customers have notified you of the checkout not working?
  • Have you installed any third-party apps recently?
  • Have you made any changes to your theme?

This will help assist the Support Advisor with troubleshooting.

I’m also getting this error. How long will it take after not having activity for orders to clear?
